Lionfish are a venomous fish species, native to tropical waters in the Indian Ocean and the South Pacific, but they are an invasive species to Florida waters.
They were first detected in the state in the 1980s, and experts suspect they came from aquariums, by either accidental escape or release. The venomous species are increasingly common off the Florida coast and have a severe impact on native marine life.
I have always felt the need to be creative. As a child I loved to sketch, draw, and paint. When I found the medium of photography a life long passion was born. I have spent nearly half a century trying to capture unique images of the world around us. Today I find myself fascinated with the beauty of nature and wildlife. I live in Tampa and being near the gulf coast has presented the opportunity to capture seascapes and flora and fauna near it's shores. I still manage to travel and I always take my camera wherever I go. I have captured many beautiful photographs over the years and I hope that you will spend some time browsing through my galleries and if you see something you like I hope you'll want to make your own.
