Ruddy Ducks are compact, thick-necked waterfowl with seemingly oversized tails that they habitually hold upright. Breeding males are almost cartoonishly bold, with a sky-blue bill, shining white cheek patch, and gleaming chestnut body. They court females by beating their bill against their neck hard enough to create a swirl of bubbles in the water. This widespread duck breeds mostly in the prairie pothole region of North America and winters in wetlands throughout the U.S. and Mexico.
I have always felt the need to be creative. As a child I loved to sketch, draw, and paint. When I found the medium of photography a life long passion was born. I have spent nearly half a century trying to capture unique images of the world around us. Today I find myself fascinated with the beauty of nature and wildlife. I live in Tampa and being near the gulf coast has presented the opportunity to capture seascapes and flora and fauna near it's shores. I still manage to travel and I always take my camera wherever I go. I have captured many beautiful photographs over the years and I hope that you will spend some time browsing through my galleries and if you see something you like I hope you'll want to make your own.
